For me this is one of the least memorable Fleming novels. My favorite highlight from the book is the extended climax of which has Bond fighting Wint and Kidd on the liner Queen Elizabeth, which is essentially a mini Die Hard!
In the movie this sequence became a two minute excuse for some Connery jokes. The movie also shares the Las Vegas locations, but little else.
There are some horse-racing sequences which did appear in the movie but I suspect were the inspiration for the horse-racing scenes in A View to a Kill.
